漢江臨眺 A View of the Han River

王維 Wang Wei

With its three southern branches reaching the Chu border,
chǔ sāi sān xiāng jiē ,
And its nine streams touching the gateway of Jing,
jīng mén jiǔ pài tōng 。
This river runs beyond heaven and earth,
jiāng liú tiān de wài ,
Where the colour of mountains both is and is not.
shān sè yǒu wú zhōng 。
The dwellings of men seem floating along
jùn yì fú qián pǔ ,
On ripples of the distant sky –
bō lán dòng yuǎn kōng 。
These beautiful days here in Xiangyang
xiāng yáng hǎo fēng rì ,
Make drunken my old mountain heart!
liú zuì yǔ shān wēng 。
