留別王侍御維 Taking Leave of Wang Wei

孟浩然 Meng Haoran

Slow and reluctant, I have waited
jì jì jìng hé dài ,
Day after day, till now I must go.
cháo cháo kōng zì guī 。
How sweet the road-side flowers might be
yù xún fāng cǎo qù ,
If they did not mean good-bye, old friend.
xī yǔ gù rén wéi 。
The Lords of the Realm are harsh to us
dāng lù shuí xiāng jiǎ ,
And men of affairs are not our kind.
zhī yīn shì suǒ xī 。
I will turn back home, I will say no more,
zhī yīng shǒu jì mò ,
I will close the gate of my old garden.
hái yǎn gù yuán fēi 。
