蘇武廟 The Temple of Su Wu

苏 蘇 武 武 魂 魂 销 銷 汉 漢 使 使 前 前 ，

Though our envoy, Su Wu, is gone, body and soul,

古 古 祠 祠 高 高 树 樹 两 兩 茫 茫 然 然 。

This temple survives, these trees endure....

云 雲 边 邊 雁 雁 断 斷 胡 衚 天 天 月 月 ，

Wildgeese through the clouds are still calling to the moon there

陇 隴 上 上 羊 羊 归 歸 塞 塞 草 草 烟 煙 。

And hill-sheep unshepherded graze along the border.

迴 迴 日 日 楼 樓 台 臺 非 非 甲 甲 帐 帳 ，

...Returning, he found his country changed

去 去 时 時 冠 冠 剑 劍 是 是 丁 丁 年 年 。

Since with youthful cap and sword he had left it.

茂 茂 陵 陵 不 不 见 見 封 封 侯 侯 印 印 ，

His bitter adventures had won him no title....

空 空 向 曏 秋 秋 波 波 哭 哭 逝 逝 川 川 。

Autumn-waves endlessly sob in the river.
